Abstract
The focus of this research paper is “Motivation within the workplace”. What does motivation mean to us? How does it really affect us as leaders as well as employees? According to (Wiley,2011) motivation is defined as: : “The forces coming from within a person that account for the willful direction, intensity, and persistence of the person’s efforts toward achieving specific goals, where achievement is not due solely to ability or to environmental factors”.
Work motivation has to be in my opinion one of the most active impactions in relation to the organizational behavior within the work force that is why I have chosen this topic. If your employees are not motivated many negative behaviors will surface amongst them. For example, “the lack of motivation could affect safety, esteem needs, self-actualization needs, social needs as well as physiological needs just to name a few” (Wiley 2011).
This research paper will entail how motivation affects the workplace on daily basis as well as the overall long term effects motivation has on us all within. The relevance of motivation in relation to the Organizational behavior the fact the motivation is quite crucial an importance in any discussion of organizational behavior. Individuals must be motivated if they are to effectively engage in practices and behaviors that bring along the success to a company, business or firm. This area of Organizational Behavior interests me because there are many strategies to master and they all funnel to the one goal of effectively running a business.
